we will kick it off with the radar it will not show you anything other than the cold front there down to the south and east, down to ocean city, and in washington, we are done with the leftover rain showers. one or two last night, and we should clear things out with a nice sunrise this morning. in for a quiet friday, but on the windy side behind the front. the temperature has been falling, 54 degrees. it's cool. humidity, 43%. the winds out of the north and west at 10. gusting to 20. the pressure 2.897. the winds will be breezy as mentioned. good morning, sarah. very exciting night for the redskins' fans. we all knew it was coming, but it's finally here. for robert griffin iii, or rg3 as we know him, he will get his introduction in washington in a draft party tomorrow. he has not thrown a pass yet for the redskins, but he does come with some high expectations. the redskins took him number two in the nfl draft last night, and the first quarterback taken number two since donovan mcnabb in 1999. he took it all in stride in the nfl draft in new york last night, getting his redskins' jersey. the baylor qb is now the guy the redskins' fans are pinning their super bowl dreams on. >> rg3! rg3! >> rg3, baby, all the way! >> redskins! >> reporter: obviously the reaction from fans what you would expect. everyone is excited about the prospect of the skins' future

with the ball in the hands of rg3. they have not won a super bowl since joe gibbs left the first time around, but everyone expected he will bring more trophies to ashburn. >> it's truly exciting to get to meat a new team and go and build our and write our own history and legacy, that's intriguing. >> he will give us the best chance he can to win and for him to be as good as he's going to be. >> reporter: now the redskins will have the 2012 draft party at fedex field on saturday at 11:30 until 6:00, and there's expected to be a press conference at 2:00 to formally introduce rg3, robert griffin iii, to the faithful, it's free to go, but you have to sign up so they know how many people are coming. you can expect the party will be quite the frenzy. back to you.

>> sherri, thank you. brandon meriweather is facing drunk driving charges. he was stopped on interstate 66 yesterday morning. police say he failed the field sobriety test after he refused to take a breathalyzer test. a warning from police in the dc petworth neighborhood. one or several attackers on the loose this morning. police say all three victims suffered head drama. one of the victims was a denver tourist who was found dead in the ally. police believe the incidents may be related. police in dc and montgomery county are urging runners to be on guard. in the last 2 weeks there's been separate incidents of a man inappropriately touching female joggers. the most recent was on upper northwest dc, and the other across the maryland line in

bethesda. police say as of right now, there's nothing relating the incident. 5% increase for rail riders and buses will increase 10 cents for people with smarttrip cards. for the first time in 2 years, the board overseaingsea -- overseeing metro has increased both bus and rail. >> it provides additional service, to improve our maintenance, and that's one of the two things we going forward with, increase the maintenance of the system. >> the fare hikes go into effect on july 1st. prepare for that to hit your wallet. >> just like the gas prices accident but those are tick -- gas prices, but those are ticking down. we like those. passengers quarantined on

making headlines, passengers in a panic in chicago. someone on board of a delta flight had a suspicious rash, and everyone on the plane was quarantined. the woman was suspected of having a deadly skin rash, and the thought was it may be monkey pox. >> you think will i make it off the plane? will i be in a suit like the people outside. >> is it airborne? topical? what do you need? do you cover your mouth? >> a lot of questions passengers were goggling on the plane. >> "the passenger was evaluated by chicago medical services and the chicago cdc. based on the rash, it does not appear it's consistent with monkey pox infection." today and tomorrow mark the anniversary of the devastating

tornado touchdowns. 62 tornadoes hit the south. the hardest hit, alabama, losing 253 resident in the disaster. tomorrow will be 10 years since the tornado that hit charles county. homes, schools, and businesses were destroyed during that. there will be a massive thanksgiving tomorrow at sacred heart church in laplatta. nasa says the enterprise transfer is a go. it will ride on top of the 747 as discovery did last week. enterprise is expected to fly low over the new york landmarks, and then it will be on display at the intrepid air, sea, and space museum. >> like it was a big deal flying into here, it will be a big deal for new york today. a fox 5 follow up.

never in my lifetime did i think i could walk 60 miles in 3 days. 60 miles in 3 days is-- is huge. if my mom can fight and beat breast cancer, i can walk 60 miles. you just put one foot in front of the other, and you know that you're walking for such a great cause that you just keep going. (man) that you have all these people coming together for one common goal. (woman) the goal is to bring an end to breast cancer. (woman) the fund-raising was the easiest part. people were very giving. complete strangers wanting to help. if i can do this, you definitely can do this. tyler, so she practically got me into it. >> reporter: and as we saw today, loving aerosmith is a family affair, but the real rock star is not just steven tyler but cole, who has stayed brave and positive through the worst of experiences. this past january his mother took him to the doctor and got terrible news. >> i thought it was a flu type of thing, and unfortunately neither one of us expected we would not be leaving the doctor's office the day we went in. >> reporter: he was diagnosissed with a rare and aggressive type of brain cancer. cole stayed in the hospital for 3 months and went through more than 20 hours of surgeries. >> it puts a new prospective on, i guess, not only your life, but the world around you. >> reporter: while he was in the hospital, cole made a wish. >> to sing walk this with you

with steven tyler. >> reporter: the hospital brought him into a room, and cole and his sister got a giant surprise when steven was on the screen. >> cole screeched. >> reporter: and then he got his wish to sing with steven. >> i got to sing walk this way with him. >> reporter: now the family says when he is not feeling well, they remind him of the moment. you're a star now, how does that feel? >> awesome! >> a dream come true for that little boy. something to keep his spirits up. >> very sad. prayers out to cole and his family. a 3-year-old girl is a hero this morning. ahead in 14 minutes, how she saved her mother's life with a phone call. >> a big story, a big name coming to the redskins. i wonder what that is?

time traffic. thank you, julie. our big story this morning, it's been a huge week for the dc sports fans. pick bun of the team -- pick one of the teams, and they are doing well. >> everyone is buzzing this morning about the redskins' future because there's a new quarterback coming to town. sherri ly has the excitement on rgiii. >> reporter: you know rgiii has not even thrown a pass jet, but everyone has high expectations for him. they are hoping he can bring a few more trophies out here to ashburn, the one from the super bowl for the skins, and this is the quarterback that everyone has been waiting for. the redskins made it official last night, drafting him as the number two pick overall in the draft. the skins handed him a jersey and put the team's future in his hands. the first quarterback number two since donovan mcnabb was

selected in 1999, and that didn't turn out too bad. no doubt the redskins' nation is feeling the excitement. the feeling is mutual for fans. >> it feels great to play for a coach i watched growing up, knowing what he has been able to do with the guys like steve young and john elway, that's truly exciting. the chance to meet a new team, go to a new city and build and write our own legacy and history, that's truly exciting. >> i'm finally getting the chance to see a great quarterback in play. i finally played the eight weeks of the season. i'm going to any home game. >> the fans believe rg3 is the man to turn the tide on the fortune. they gave up the second round pick and the first round pick for the first two years to make it happen. everyone is betting it's all worth it.

related. prince george's county police say they arrested a man who got angry after staff refused to let him use their phone. mickel tyrone took a baseball bat from a guard and started to beat the guard and then took the keys from a day care worker and took off in her car. he appeared to be under the influence of a dangerous substance. this man robbed a wells fargo bank on wednesday. he's wearing a uniformed shirt belonging tonight protective service. if you recognize him, investigators want to hear from you. the family of a north carolina teenager whose disappearance in baltimore made national headlines is speaking out about the arrest in the case. felicia barnes went missing while visiting her sister in 2010. her body was found months later

in the river. police charged 28-year-old michael johnson with first- degree murder, the exboyfriend of barnes' half-sister. her cousin says her family always thought johnson was involved. >> the investigators and -- we are not investigators or police officers or anything like that, but sitting around as a family, collecting evidence by ourselves, looking around, everything pointed back to him. >> police still have not said how barnes died or what the motive for murder was. a mom collapsing to the the floor, and her young daughter comes to the rescue. that girl, just 3 years old. >> i love it! >> that's good parenting. her mother taught her something! >> we will have details of the life saving phone call coming up. shares on wall street got a boost yesterday. the dow gaining 114, nasdaq adding 21 points, but japan's

today, the house of representatives is voting to keep the student loan interest rate down. it's something that president obama has been calling for all week. even the gop house speaker, john bayer -- bay -- boehner says he is conducting speeches beneath the level of the white house. the man charged with killing trayvon martin has reportedly raised more than $200,000 through a website. zimmerman's attorney says he just found out about the money on wednesday, and he says zimmerman's bail may have been set higher if the judge had known about it. the donation website has since been shut down. a 3-year-old coming to the rescue after her mother passes out. madison's mom was recovering from surgery when she collapsed at their home in arizona. that's when madison used a smart phone to call her grandma
